Great thoughts! We’re finding that the significant efficiencies we’re getting from agents autonomously processing Jira tickets, resolving them, writing tests, running tests, doing PR reviews, etc, is allowing us to cancel headcount increases we were planning for 2027. So our operational efficiencies themselves are not increasing revenue, but they are decreasing operating expenses. (We do also have product and channel AI features that are increasing our deal flow through our partner channels and starting to increase our revenue.)
Back to OPs AI, as we are seeing our SDLC cycle time getting dramatically shortened, we are seeing the possibility that by early 2027 we could have an enterprise-complex “lovable” type setup where a product manager/sales rep/customer could iterate product features in minutes/hours (rather than days/weeks) - with full enterprise robustness - terraform infrastructure buildout, code generation with company UI/UX, APIs, DB, unit tests, integration tests, UI E2E tests, code quality scans, security scans, evals, etc., all created and tested by bots. We expect that this dramatically reduced SDLC throughput and iteration will be attractive to partners’/customers’ requests, and the quickly generated new features will produce additional value and attract more revenue to our channels.
We also see self improving loops adding continuous value as well.
Expanding our bot capability further in other departments - marketing, sales, underwriting, risk/fraud, etc, will also contribute to efficiency, accuracy, and revenue growth.
And finally, we also anticipate that the IP we are creating with bot powered workflows and data flows specifically for our industry may open possibilities of being acquired by a larger, slower-transitioning company that could leverage our IP to fast-track their own efforts and 10-20x the value.
The rest of us are trying to catch up to you and your team Adam! :) I do believe for most companies, even with proper execution, we'll see decreasing returns to scale and the impact will be significant, but half of what we would have expected given all of the motion and forward progress.
Activity ≠ output.
Output ≠ value.
An hour saved ≠ an hour captured.
So true
